Every Girl Deserves Chanel

A few weekends ago I had the happy pleasure of getting together with some friends for our annual Unconvention.

For my swaps I decided to use my Petite Purse die and make a Chanel handbag for everyone, cos every girl deserves Chanel!

Here's a sample:

Inside I put some Lindt chocolates. So simple and so adorable!

Materials used:
  • card - basic black
  • other - gold brads, Simply Scoring tool, sticky strip, bone folder
  • non SU - gold chain, gold alphabet stickers

We also had a play at making some other purses including this fishing bag cased from Robin Feicht.

Materials used:
  • card - sahara sand, mellow moss, more mustard
  • other - square lattice embossing folder, large oval punch, regals brads
  • non SU - fishing embellishments

Another couple of projects we made, created by the talented Robyn, were a gorgeous cascade card and an ingenious concertina gift box. (I was a bit naughty and snuck some non SU papers in for my gift box, which I haven't finished decorating the front of yet!)

As usual, the fun was over all too soon and we had to wend our way home, tired but happy!

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

I'm Late, I'm Late, I'm Late!

As I mentioned in my last post, DD14 had an Alice in Wonderland Tea Party theme for her 14th birthday party. It was a load of fun scouring the local shops for things that would fit the theme and thinking up relevant craft items too (taking into account the limited time I had available to make things!).

Here are some photos of the party:

The caterpillar end of the table. Lots of tea pots with different types of tea in them, including Peach Iced Tea, and one of soft drink.

I found a cat toy perfect to be the dormouse poking out of a tea pot.

Mismatched cups and saucers of course, scoured from Vinnies etc as well as some from our own collections. The table was decorated with cards, keys and locks and fob watches.

The plate of cupcakes, decorated by DD14 and her friends, some with ganache and fondant icing, some with buttercream icing. Of course there were plenty of Eat Me and Drink Me labels.

I found a dog toy that looked a lot like the dodo from the Disney movie version. My SIL hung it up by its neck so there were plenty of jokes about "dead as a dodo" and it being extinct after all! You'll see the giant playing card banner in the background.

Even the candles fitted the theme!

Here are the girls in their costumes. Left to right Mad Hatter, White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, Alice (DD), Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, Ace of Hearts (who even brought her paint brush to paint the roses red!) and Mary (Alice's sister). I was so thrilled they all got into the spirit of it and came up with such great outfits.

I made a couple of craft items for the goodie bags - a flower pop and a teapot bookmark:

And of course a White Rabbit worrying about being late for the party ...

A wonderland time was had by all. Thanks for stopping by.

NSU - My Cup of Tea

It's DD's birthday today and the card I made her incorporates three of her favourite things:

  • the colour green
  • polka dots
  • tea theme

She just loves tea and is also having a Alice in Wonderland Tea Party theme for her birthday party (more on that later!). Here's her card:

Materials used:
  • stamps - Verve 'A cup of life'
  • card - SU Baja breeze, whisper white; Kaiser designer papers; white linen card from LSS
  • other - MFT Time for Tea die, Martha Stewart doily lace punch, SU framelits labels die, Stitches embossing folder, dimensionals

I just know she's going to love it and of course I wish her the happiest of 14th birthdays and all the love in the world.

Now I've got to go and make a cake! Thanks for dropping by.

Cheers
